Preventing Sexual Violence on Campus (Title IX)

Title IX Banner

Sex- or gender-based discrimination is wrong. It is illegal. It will not be tolerated. The University of Miami is committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment, free from any form of sexual misconduct, including sex- or gender-based discrimination, dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking.

The University’s Sexual Misconduct Policy prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in the University's programs and activities, and the University will take steps to eliminate prohibited conduct, prevent its recurrence, and remedy its effects.

The University has designated a Title IX Coordinator to administer this Policy, to provide education and training to the University community to identify and prevent sexual misconduct; and to coordinate the University’s investigation, response, and resolution of sexual misconduct complaints.

In addition, the President’s Campus Coalition on Sexual Violence Prevention and Education - comprised of more than 30 University faculty and administrators, and student ambassadors - is committed to the mission of helping to ensure a broad cross-section of University community involvement, collaboration, and information sharing about prevention and treatment of sexual violence. For more information about University-wide prevention and awareness efforts, please visit the It's On Us UMiami website.
